I picked up this book from the library and some neat designs by Cathy Wierbicki
There is acube design done in strips not hex

Thanks - I've bookmarked this...I have just the person in mind for a quilt with a geometric design. My only worry was how on earth to simplify it for my "non-geometric" brain.

I do like this one, I checked on Amazon for the book. I may try to get this book after the holidays are over. I ordered a book from Amazon on Nov. 16th and still have not received it. It has has been all over the place, in KY,now MS, maybe TN tomorrow.

It's also easy to do the cubes in horizontal strips as per the OBW Encore book and method.
I did a Christmas hanging a few months ago - you could space out the cubes with plain strips to differ the effect
