Oh very pretty! I love the names of some of the old time blocks.

Beautiful little quilt! In France, we eat gizzards fried on a salad, only they call them 'gésiers' which sounds much nicer! So - 'Coeurs et gésiers'? sound prettier!

Have done some googling - it's also known as Dutch Windmills http://www.justitdist.com/quiltinaday.htm or the Dutch Rose http://www.troymessenger.com/news/20...er-museum-ala/ scroll down!

It appears here in alist made by a girl who had to make 100quilts before she was allowed to marry!

But I can't find any specific info on why it's called gizzards - I can only assume that the negative shape left by the heart looked to someone like a gizzard! :D

I saw Eleanor do it on her show... Also Kaye Woods... It looked easy enough. I sure like yours. Great Job!

well, I don't eat gizzards...I have....but hubby's family loves them...fried or in chicken and rice...will stick a fork in a hand that reaches on their plate......go ahead, won't be mine, lol!
So, K, you eat those gizzards in your salad? just wondering. I don't think they are gross, just chewy and no flavor, but why would anyone want to name their quilt that? eccentric I guess. I probably would have thought twice before clicking too, but knowing me?...I probably would have just to see, what goes by that name? :D
