Thanks guys - it's due to all your support and encouragement that I've finally plucked up courage to contact my local patchwork club - I'm going next week for the first time, will let you know how I get on!

Ooh I'm spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting a favourite - I love them all.
Many thanks for sharing.

Yes Izy, quite a lot of English - my little girl is one of 6 in a class of twenty for example!

Yes, Izy, even here in the shops they've started putting signs in English; It annoys me a bit because I think we should make an effort to learn their language but I guess a lot of people find it helpful; in some ways there are too many English here for my liking, I would prefer to be in a more French area but then I'm English myself so I'm part of the problem! And us foreignors do tend to buy up and renovate all the older properties that would otherwise crumble away, bringing life back to the villages; I've had nothing but welcome and friendliness from the French locals and try not to stay in an expat 'clique' but mix with English AND French (even Dutch, LOL) in general people are people the world over - most are nice and some are not, no matter what nationality. Moving out of the UK has really made me more open and understanding of other ways of doing things!
