Ok, so I have my old lady 15-91 clone out at the camper with me... (I'm not a fool!) and it starts pouring down rain today, out of nowhere... good time to, you guessed it, QUILT!

So we got a start on the bargello wedding quilt... I am not following any pattern per se, I am just going to let it take me wherever she wants to go. :) That is so fun, especially on bargello designs!

So this is what I have for my "test" to make sure the colors are going to play nicely... I like it! Not sure which way it will orient itself yet, have to get a little more groundwork done first...

sorry the colors kinda went wonky there, not sure why... and yes, each fabric has either a crimson or a purple of some sort in it... I actually had about a dozen other fabrics too, but they didn't play nicely with the others, so they got put in timeout on the shelf. :)

We have 16 fabrics we're working with... the one that keeps coming up as a rude blue is actually a very deep purple, it was overcast when I shot the pics, so it just doesn't want to show its pretty color

Years ago I planted a tulip bed with red and purple flowers. I don't know how I made that choice or why. At the time I was a serious gardener and had beautiful beds all around. I hosted garden tours at my home and sold perennials. Guess which bed was most commented on? You better believe it! Red and purple. Unusual is good! I love the red violet in your choices. They blend superbly. Have fun!

oooh, I am an avid gardener too ~ that sounds beautiful! Now that you mention it, I have purple Iris / crocus & red tulip near each other, but they don't bloom at the same time!

more progress... I've been camping with the kids so only worked on it while it was raining, or at night... nearly at the right width, got to add a few more inches ... And now that I have this strip, the fabrics have kinda told me where they want to go next... so I'll leave that as a surprise :)

hubby is 6-ft tall, so I left the picture sideways to get the right effect.

You are so good. From that original pile I was thinking you didn't have enough light fabric but the finished product says differently. Great job so far.
