While my daughter was recouperating from surgery and having wisdom teeth extracted .... She'd loved a comforter we were given as a wedding gift (34 years ago) so after she took out every stitch and cut away the frayed edges ... we backed the fabric (worn soft over the years and flimsy) with a plain backed quilt (she wrecked but that's another story) - cut in 18 inch squares, zigzaged the edges and quilted a bit. Then I sewed the blocks together - with a fancy centre block - my first attempt at paper piecing - I don't work well upside down and backwards - gave it a flannel back and made a duvet cover for college.

That turned out so cute. I love the center square and the fact that a much loved quilt has been given new life. Great job and thanks for sharing.
