I counted for you
CENTER:
16 HSTs per block
9 rows of 7 blocks = 63 blocks in center
63 X 16 = 1008 HSTs in center
BORDERS
4 HSTs per block
bottom and top: 17 blocks X 2 = 34 blocks X 4 = 136 HSTs
each side: 18 blocks X 2 = 36 X 4 = 144 HSTs

Total = 1008 + 136 + 144 + 1288 HSTs!!!!!!!!!!!

No - just obsessive-compulsive! I was curious after she said she stopped counting.

Jill,
I love your quilt, when we talked about the HST quilt in chat I didn't realize the pattern I was thinking something like a saw tooth, this is fantastic, I love it.
I was considering the broken dish (I think that is what you have around the border right? or is it an hourglass?) for the next border on the round robin quilt I just received. What do you think?
Brenda Henning is an Alaskan quilter, unfortunately I was active in the guild a few years ago when they brought her to my area for a workshop. She has a book out with the Hunter Star that I am determined to do one of these years.
