It's a little iron for applique pressing, and made by "clover" and available at Joanne fabric. it's a very convenient tool and much easier to use on tiny pieces than a regular iron.

A small ironing board is so useful! I made mine from the cardboard inner of a fabric bale from a quilt shop. They just throw them away when the fabric is all sold. I cover it with an old blanket bit and then sew a jacket on it. I've recently recovered one and added a handle to carry it to workshops and also a sleeve down one side to carry my long rotary ruler.

Curious .... does it have enough "heat" to go thru the layers when you are paper piecing?

My hubby did an ironing board also for me. He put legs on the bottom so it fits on a wooden tv tray. I have this next to my machine and just love it. It's also the best for retreats.
