Default humor in my old curtaind

I made this quilt for a co-worker and when I had to select a back for it, I wanted green . Well last week I took down my old curtains and washed and folded them and put them on the shelf with my fabric. Well I thought they matched and when I took them apart it fit perfect. So I laugh when I showed it to family members and they didn't get it I had to tell them it was our old curtains.

This is the second time I used old curtains when my sister was pregnant she was complaining she had no clothes so when I took down my living room curtains I made her a summer dress. When she saw it she said I'll never wear that out of the house I said what ever. The next week I was at the mall and ran into my sister with the dress on, it was well worn. And then she gave it to a friend after she was done with it.

The quilt looks great!

Your story reminded me of the old Carol Burnett skit "Went with the Wind"-- "I saw it in the window, and I just couldn't resist!"

Just in case you've missed this classic (the scene I referred to started at 13:13): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjUYw2HKB7o

Really striking colors together. Very productive use of available materials as well.
