Thanks everyone. First I tried matching all the white, that soon got old. I had so many whites, from 4-14 inches with of fabric, I took the plung and used them. Each block has 2 light & 2 dark purple.Just did the last 3 blocks. Of course on the last one I cut a big slit with rotory cutter. Need to rip that out and replace. I do have extras. Now need to actually buy backing. Would it look odd to use different purple on the back as I want to try quilt as you go.

thank you for the up close of the blocks. I was using a different pattern that is much harder to cut out. more strips and less triangles.

Love yours! I just cut out my pieces today/tonight for my Hunter's Star quilt. I am doing 20 large blocks (12 inch) made up of the 4 smaller blocks.... I am going to paper piece it though rather than traditional piecing. I was lucky to find the pattern on quilterscache.com for the paper pieced version. And it keeps me from having too many triangles.

I saw one in multi-colors a while back and it has drawn me since then....and when I found out my nephew was diagnosed with CML, he became the next in line for a quilt and I just knew this was the pattern for him.

I have to finish quilting my current quilt and then will start piecing this one. I hope it goes fast because I really would love to have it done by Christmas!
