Default I Can't Believe I Placed

This past weekend, my quilting guild had their quilt show. We had about 200 entries and there were some amazing quilt in the show. There is so much talent in our guild. I always learn so much from being around all of the members. I really didn't think my quilts had a chance to even place in any of the categories, but my "Christmas in the Forest" took 5th place in the art category and my "Inspired to Create" took 7th in the Lap Quilt category. I was thrilled and pleasantly surprised.

I honestly didn't realize my "Inspired to Create" even placed until tonight (a week after the show) when I was unpacking and repacking my quilts for another show and I saw the medal. I hadn't even noticed it when we were packing up the show. What an awesome surprise!

Congratulations. I am inspired by your Christmas tree quilt. Hope you don't mind if I try to make one similar to it.

No, Kitsy, that is fine. It was just a 1600 inches quilt that I made at my sewing group and I felt it needed something more. I had cut my own strips, so instead of 2.5" strips, I used 3" strips. The back side is the same background but has poinsettias on it. Unfortunately all the bling doesn't show in this picture. I don't know which side I like best.

That was a good turnout for the show. Your quilts are very artistic, I especially like the yellow lap quilt. Congrats.
