I bought a machine off craigslist thinking I might be getting a machine with an external motor.(severely blurred picture- see below). I get there and it's a singer 201, for $20 with the cabinet and attachments. Only problem....... it's completely frozen, I can't even drop the presser foot. So it'll be my next cleaning project.... enough elbow grease and it *should* move again, I hope. Does anyone use one of these? Do you like it? I usually stick to treadles these days, but her decals are almost perfect and the cabinet is unique if I can get her working again (i'll post pictures when my camera stops having a fit).

Billy.... can you tell me how to take the motor off/ out of this machine? I need to give her a bath. Also she needs the needle plate if you have one.
Thanks,
Cheryl

yes it is, and how the wiring is strung through it is unique too..... the foot pedal is attached to the cabinet and wired up through to the machine..... which will make getting it out of the cabinet to clean unique too.
