My husband made mine for me the very first time he came home and found "stuff laying all over the place!" :) I said "honey, I have to do this somewhere." And that is how my design wall came to be!

Make one. I used a 4'x6' peice of 1inch styrofoam (not expensive and available at any Menards, Lowes, Home Depot, or other building supply store) and coverd it with a flannel sheet.
I just pulled the sheet to the back and stuck pins in it at an angle. When I'm not using it I store it behind a chest of drawers. You can also use a plastic flannel backed tablecloth. Or you can make one with some large clips, two curtain rods, a folding cardboard cutting board (the kind used for clothing patterns) and a piece of flannel. When it's not in use simply take it apart and fold it up. Extend the curtain rods and clip the flannel and cardboard to them.

If it was grandma's it's quite possible a sheet blanket. Those were made of thin flannel. Well, it probably wasn't thin when new but with the first wash they thin out rather quickly. It looks wonderful btw and you're going to wonder how you ever did without one.

I always have to lay mine out on the livingroom floor. This would be great! I also don't have a wall to hang one on. I'm sewing in the diningroom right now.

I wonder how I got along without mine. People on this board led me in the right direction on how and what to use and now I use it all the time.
