Default I finally finished a quilt

I haven't posted in a very long time But... today I finished a quilt that begain in my mind 4 years ago. It's called Rockport Memories. Each appliqued square represents something from our Rockport, MA vacations. The beach pale and shovel are for Ari, my 5 year old GS and the Birthday cake is for Jonah, my GS who will turn 8 on our visit this year. Jonah has his birthday at the beach since he turned 4 - hence the 4 candles. The dog prints are our two dogs; Morgan and Spencer both 9 years old. The fish are for my husband - the ones he never catches. If you google "Rockport, MA" you can see pictures of the lovely town and the inspiration for the squares. Hope you enjoy. Oh, forgot the most important part! The quilt is to use on the beach!

What a fun quilt. So glad you finished it and have a great use for it. Using your memories to make more ;-)

I really like what you did here. I think it is hugely more creative to make a quilt represent your life than to make merely one more standard pattern.

Thank you everyone. You are all so encouraging - I've started another one LOL I'm going to do some quilting on it but I'm not going to use my machine. I'm going to do it by hand while at the beach. That way its totally a beachy quilt

Thanks again for your kind words.
