I have been requested to show a bigger picture of my Avatar.

This was a BOM from my LQS 3 or 4 years ago. I had never done star blocks before but since they were in Batiks (which I love), I was game. I did not do the blocks right away, I wanted to have a layout and the rest of the fabric before I started the blocks. I knew that I wanted to change the background fabric so I waited for a few months while I looked for the right fabric. I played around in EQ5 to get the layout that I wanted. I then took the computer with me to a few stores and found the fabric that I wanted

I then started on the blocks. I ended up changing some fabric in one block so the star would show up against the background fabric that I choose. Other than that, the remaining starts stayed the same.

I have not quilted this yet since I have now clue how to quilt it. Have not thought about it much either, but the top is done and I love it. :-D

    Hope you enjoy it.

Once my boys wake up today, I will get a better picture of the quilt and repost it.

Nope, no paper piecing on this one. There were times that it would have been nice, but I got to know my seam ripper well on a few of the blocks. Funny how time tends to ease the pain of a few of the blocks

I agree. About the time I finished the top, we started to get in the mode of moving and I also had a little one. Now that we are settled for a few more months, have to move in the spring, and my boys are able to be on their own a lot more, I am picking up all my UFO's and trying to get them finished. I want to practice my FMQing more before I tackle this one. Little rusty on this since I have not done it in a while ;)
