When I read your title, I just knew I was going to be opening up pictures of some serene, beautiful piece of land surrounded by calming blue seas! I was a little jealous! Still am as that wallhanging is beautiful!!!

I like your idea -- in fact I tried something like it years ago but could not find any clips that I could open that would open wide enough to clip the countertop. DH did it for me once, then "adopted" my clips (they were a lot like yours).

Great idea! I don't do that anymore since I have a longarm, but I still do the smaller stuff on my DM, so will remember this! Love the quilt too. Please share when finished.

What kind of clips are these and where would I buy some? I have a similar island that I use for cutting but haven't been able to find any clips to hold with the bullnose edge on the granite.

I like to pin my quilt on my bed. It is high off the floor and when there are no sheets on I can pin the lining to the roll around the bed to hold it in place. Really works great for me

Get the biggest island you can squeeze in!! I have cabinets that are back to back and makes a huge island. I LOVE IT! and we use it for everything!!!

I found clps like these that I use at home depot. It is the best way to baste! I wouldn't be able to crawl around any more!
