With the help of my grand-daughter, we made our very first sock monkey. The right socks were a bit tricky to find in any stores, so I ordered mine from fabric.com. It was fun to make and my grand-daughter just loves him.

Those pics are sooo cute. She has him train very well and so quickly.
I was lucky enough to find about a dozen pr of socks, the directions and even the stuffing at a yard sale for $2.00. That's less than one pr of socks cost. I finished the one they had started, it wasn't made correctly. My college age son confiscated that one. The next one I made for my grandson before he was born. I showed him to my husband's cousins and they were coming up with all kinds of clothes I should make for him. And I should make a girl to go with him. Yea, I'll put that on the list.

Oh, so cute, your granddaughter has a good sense of humor.

Reminds me that I used to make sock dolls years ago, long white socks without any elastic for a 12" or so doll and anklet socks for a little sitting doll. The little doll was named Sleepy Suzie, no name on pattern for larger doll but I named it Mary after my first granddaughter. I made the first for her when Mary was a few months old, can't believe next month she'll be 29. May in Jersey
