I think they'd be great for the swap.

They're both great -- but I like the one with the white background the best! But our opinions really don't matter -- which one do YOU like the best??

Well I kind of like the black but I love black. My daughter said white because she said do not give me black (she has a black and white dog and he sheds white hair   ) she said make 12 of each and then you will get 24 different ones back.

I prefer the black background. But that may be because I just completed a Friendship quilt for my daughter that used a black background with white swirls and stars...so your black block is familiar to me!

After making 36 blocks I would recommend pressing your seams open. It makes it much easier to make the points. I ended up just outline quilting around the stars.

What we like is an extremely personal choice.... I'm the same as your daughter, I avoid too much black purely because I have four black and white dogs (who only shed their white hairs of course) and two creamy coloured cats. So I prefer the white background.

But... keeping in mind these are for the swap, I think either would do just fine, honestly! :-)

Learning to pick what YOU like, and ignoring the rest of the world, takes time. ;-) Don't be too hard on yourself.
