11 days later - i am finished w/ the quilt top for my mom. Brief story: My grandmother cut out all these diamond shapes and was going to make a tumbling block quilt. She died in 1945 before ever finishing the quilt. My mom was 7 yrs old at the time.

Several years ago, my aunt gave me a bag w/ all these diamonds and i had intended to complete the tumbling block quilt. Last summer, I found this pattern that i like because it features all the vintage fabrics much better.

My plan is to give this to my mom in June when my sister comes in for a visit. Good thing mom doesn't hang on message boards because this will be a total surprise

She will enjoy it - and hopefully i'll have it quilted by then!! If not, she'll get it and then i'll bring it back home to finish.
