I'm not sure why you think that prints don't work in this pattern ... I quite like #2!

I love the third one. I agree with you....I don't think prints work with this pattern.

But, the thid one is fantastic!

Wow! What a pattern and what a great job you have done putting some test pieces together. I love the second design. If I had made it, it would be displayed on my wall for all to see. Lots of patience and best of luck to with this quilt. It will be a stunner.
