Red face Indiana Women's Prison--Newest Quilt Done!

This has to be the most difficult project I've tackled so far in my quilting journey! I've been referring to it as "The Quilt From Hell" for several weeks! Actually, it is "The Nemo Quilt" and was finished just this morning.

This quilt will be sent out to Indiana Women's Prison along with another quilt that should be finished by the end of the week and some hats that I knitted using donated yarn.

This quilt was completed with a very generous donation from DSIL, Charlee. She found this partially cut quilt with blocks pieced at a Goodwill store. I pieced together the blocks, made the borders, backed and quilted this.

Thanks for looking and being so supportive!
    ~Peggy

It's awesome and you did a great job. God Bless you for being so kind hearted to donate to women in prison.
Families are like old quilts....although they tend to unravel at times...each can be stitched back together with love.

For those that don't know, the Indiana State Prison system has a program for the pregnant women that are incarcerated there. These women, as long as they have less than a certain amount of time to serve, and are non-violent offenders, can keep their babies with them until their release.
These babies and their mamas have nothing for the babies that is provided by the state prison system, EVERYTHING, clothing, diapers, formula, bedding, etc. is provided for them by donations. When Peggy heard about it, she decided that every baby needs a quilt to grow up with. The quilts that Peggy makes and sends stay with the babies that they are given to, and go home with the babies when their mamas are released from custody. (It's a condition that the prison people agreed to when Peggy offered to send quilts)
I'm pretty sure that Peggy can use all the help she can get if anyone wants to volunteer or donate!

Thanks! I got the smaller blocks already pieced. There wasn't a real pattern. I just made sure that when I put them together I had a "star"...then I put the stars in rows. Beyond that I didn't give it much thought. I added the white boarder to tone down the busyness and pieced the back from what came with the blocks. It was pure luck! My DSIL, Charlee from the board, found the whole thing at Goodwill and donated it to my cause!
