Default International Fabric Swap "My Friends of the World"

Here are pictures of the quilt I made from fabrics received in the International FQ Fabric Swap. I used a 10" cut from each fabric and a pattern from Pie in the Sky patterns. My SIL brought me a length of fabric from her trip to American Samoa that I used for backing.

I didn't want to cover the gorgeous Samoan fabric with the labels received with the fabrics, so I made a separate small quilt usingthe labels/blocks. Many of the fabrics had notes attached stating where and why each fabric was purchased. I appliqued the labels/blocks to a small swatch of each person's fabric to make the small quilt. I found a map of the world to use as backing. The small quilt hadn't been bound yet when I took the picture. I finished the binding last night.

This was a fun swap and I'm pleased with my results. BTW there were 102 swappers and 1704 FQs exchanged--a huge job for Carsey, the co-ordinator. Thank you, Carsey.

Beautiful concept. How neat to have fabrics from around the world, and you did a wonderful job putting them all together.
