You HAVE made a silk purse out of a sow's ear! I think you have done a marvelous job with what you had to work with. Those who don't make habit out of putting fabric together have no idea of how challenging it actually is to come out with a "thing of beauty and a joy forever." Just BTW, I have seen far uglier quilts. Some of the ones you see at county fairs make me wonder how anyone could have spent good money for the fabric - surely wasted - in them.

You did a good job with what you had.....Bravo!! I am sure she is gonna love it.

Now to go rest my eyes, I think they started vibrating from the pattern. Kinda like when you look at one of those black and white optical illusion pictures.

It is a quilt and will keep someone warm and cozy. All that really matters isn't it? It is nice actually.

If you use the galloping horse rule it is awesome. Up real close maybe not so much. I like the pattern though.

I love the pattern you picked to work with. I really think you made the fabric work for you. So two thumps up on rising to the challenge. Have you thought of what you will send back to your friend. Of course as a thank you for creating this suprise moment in your life. LOL (:wink
