Default Jessica finished her quilt

If you remember, my 19 year old granddaughter, Jessica, wanted me to teacher her to quilt. Her "boyfriend was in boot camp and she wanted it for Christmas. Bear in mind, she had NEVER even sat at a sewing machine. I decided on an Irish Chain, which I thought would look good and be fairly simple. Apparently I was shook up by the request, as I cut out all the 2 1/2 inch squares instead of 2 1/2 inch strips !! But I must say she did all the sewing, I cut the fabric (I was afraid of her with a rotary cutter!!), she did the quilting, I did the sandwich and binding. For some bizarre reasoning, she wanted a purple monkey from fabric that was just laying around, on the label??? I did a machine blanket stitch around the monkey, then she machine stitched her name and date. I did warn her about getting too personal with the label. (in case it didn't work out between them. Did I mention, she is a little flakey??) Without any more ado, Jessica's first quilt!!

That is great. I am sure her friend will like it. She did a good job on her one on one square piecing. Jessica, now that you know how I hope to see many more of your quilts.

She did a great job!! You sure MUST have been shook up, to cut squares instead of strips. LOL Congrats to both of you.
