I got my mom that side winder for Christmas. It's pretty neat.

That bobin winder does work great. My mom (must be an old dog not learning new tricks) doesn't use it.

I'll sit with that thing and wind a bunch of bobins and put it away. She'll wind as she goes on her machine and that's just how I guess most people do. That's not to say she doesn't appreciate all the pre-wound bobins and the convenience of not having to wind-on-the-spot.

What sewing machine do you use?

I use a cheap little Janome Gold thingy. Works great. Mom's got the big computer driven embroidery/sewing machine and two other fancy sewing machines.

Henry you are a dog.... (not really) I went to Joann's to buy the sidewinder last night and got so wrapped up in buying other stuff I walked out without it... sigh.... but I am planning to pick one up this week. Looks like you had a great time there. Just remember.... when you buy the chain it has to be called Joann Henry's. Have fun sewing :):):)
