I went to see my best friend in Muscatine, Iowa this past week. Just got home this afternoon and as nice as it is to visit friends, there is no place like home.

I stopped at Hickory Sticks in Hannibal. I love that store, they have so much of EVERYTHING!!! On Tuesday, made a trip to Kalona. I took pics of the barn quilts on the way back on Highway 22. Kalona has two great shops, I liked both of them but loved the one on the main street just a tad more. Couldn"t get to it last year as the entire street was tore up. There is a lovely Mennonite lady working in the back where the fabric is and she cuts your fabric. Loved that little touch. She was using a very large Alto Quilt cutting system to cut. Anyway, here are some pics that I would like to share.

Looks like a great trip. Glad you got to visit the store this time around. The horses and their rigs are just great. We don't see that sort of thing around here.

I love those barn quilts, but never had a chance to stop and take a picture of one. Thanks for sharing.
