I finished this Mon night. I am taking it to my sister to quilt because my longarm still isn' t working right.
My mom volunteered me to make a quilt for My German niece, my parents hosted a foreign exchange student 1981-82 school year. We became very close to her and think of her as our German Sister. She came to my dad's funeral in Feb. Her daughter is a foreign exchange student this year in the same school her mom went. She graduates this month and our sister is coming for the graduation. We are going to have a family get together when she gets here. I made the memory quilt for her with family photos from the funeral. the picture of my parents was from my sister's wedding. Luckily we were able to visit with Kat over X-mas so she became reacquainted with us. She last saw us when she was young. My son and daughter were able to stay with them in Germany when they went on a school trip.

back of the quilt, thought plain yellow would be too bright. used a frolic variation, 9patch and scraps between rows

1st time in 12 years all of the family has been together. 12 years ago was my brother's funeral. 60 plus
