We met her today and gave her the quilt. She loved it and thanked us over and over. She was so excited to see Emmaline and Emmaline was excited to see her too. It was so sweet watching the two of them. Sometimes it was like we (the parents) weren't even there. We told her that we hoped she used the quilt, but that we had never used fabric paint before so we advised her to wash in cold water on gentle no more often than absolutely necessary. She said she couldn't wait to get it home and start snuggling under it. We told her if she had a rough day at school that she could always go home and get a hug from her first (and favorite!) seventeen students.

I love everything about this quilt from the personal handprints, scripture and fabrics! The teacher looks thrilled and will have a wonderful keepsake of her first year and students!

I think it's sad that you felt that your child was slighted with a "rookie" it's kindergarten and everyone has to start somewhere. I saw this quilt some time ago and was going to make it for my sister who has been teaching for 35 years but decided not to at the moment. You did a great job on the quilt.
