This is my latest project. Still trying to use up all of those scraps I bought while traveling in the RV. This is called the Louisiana on the website, but to me it looks like a pinwheel so I call it the Louisiana pinwheel. The block portion of the quilt is done. Still working on the border. This will be queen size when it gets finished. :-)

    Border for quilt top.

There are lots of memories in this quilt and the bear paw I made because of the fabric hunt I went on during our travels, but there is also some old scraps of fabric from bits of clothing I made through out the years for myself and my girls........so yes, there are lots of memories.............but then..........that's what quilting is originally about. The scraps from yesterday are the quilts of today !!

Very pretty. Your purple block really "pops". I think the scrappy border will be perfect.

quiltwoman....that purple block really does pop in the photo ! I never noticed it until you mentioned it. Do you think I should replace it .........maybe it is too loud for the rest of the quilt :?: :?:
    What do you think?

NO! Color is our friend. Purple is our friend!

I know you weren't asking me, but I was admiring your beautiful work and applaud you for taking on so many pinwheeles. I don't do pinwheeles because I obsess about points. But yours are just georgous and I really admire anyone who takes the time to make such skillful works.

Codelia.......thanks for you opinion on the purple block. I hung the quilt up on the wall again to look at it, and the purple doesn't pop out like it does in the picture, so I guess I will leave it in. I like purple too ! Just don't want something in this quilt that sticks out like a sore thumb. :hunf:
