Thread: Latest quilt machine quilted for a customer

    I have a woman who hand pieces all of her quilts then brings then to me to machine quilt. I am always in awe!
    Thought I would share this one.

    I'm in awe too! That is one beautiful quilt and your quilting is great. That would take me a long time on the machine. I can't imagine how long it would take to hand piece. Wow!

    Yes hand pieced she does about 4 or 5 a year, she finds them relaxing.

    It is hand pieced and machine quilted. Hand quilting is also very relaxing but time consuming.

    Grandma58, your FMQ is excellent. I am so jealous ;) I'm starting to think I may never get there. Your friends quilt is delightful. I too think that hand work is more relaxing than machine work.

    A friend of mine says it takes 10,000 hours to perfect any ability. So don't give up. I have a long arm which makes it a piece of cake for large pieces. I do use my little Bernina for small pieces though.
