I like the red, too. Bow ties make such a classic quilt.

You're going a great job. Your bow ties all look fabulous. I agree red border really makes the bow ties pop. Keep up the good work.

I love your bow tie. Aren't they fun. I have a new pattern for bow tie that is the easist I've ever used. I made it for my GD in Minkee and put the left over Minkee on the back. I have another bow tie that I made with silk neckties and off white silk in the off blocks. I can't decide how to quilt it. How are you going to quilt yours?

Granny -- I have no clue how I'm going to quilt my bow tie. It's my second quilt ever. The first was quilt as you go. I'm guessing I'll do stitch in the ditch because it looks easiest. I'd rather do something fancier but I doubt I have the skills.

Lisa --- by the way, I'm an Olivia's Mommy

Good looking quilt!
By the time you get done doing stitch in the ditch, you will tackle free motion quilting without batting an eyelash .... also!
If you are going to do a stitch in the ditch technique, be sure to get a walking foot for your sewing machine (you will thank me later <g>)
As far as a border, did you consider black?
I see that you are thinking scrappy, and that will be a good choice, also ... are you going to make the scrappy solid color? any alternating with the background fabric? probably not, now that I think about it ... how long will each of your scraps be?

Omak -- My thoughts on the scrappy border are pretty up in the air right now. I have an extra charm pack as well as extra fabric from the other bow ties I threw in and the yellow setting blocks. With luck, I'll be able to cut the charm pack in half and end up with rectangles 2.5 x 5 inches so I'll have a five inch wide border.
