Default a legacy of quilts

Hope this isn't too confusing:
My daughter's husband's grandmother (on his father's side) had 6 quilt tops that had been pieced by her grandmother. My daughter's husband's grandmother (on his mother's side) is an awesome quilter. Soooooo - the quilting grandmother got the 6 tops from the other grandmother and has spent untold months finishing the job started two generations before.

The one that is mostly red/white/blue had been given to a family friend - 40 years ago. When clearing out a cabinet the friend found the long-forgotten top and .... got it back to the grandmother saying, "It's time it came home." THAT'S what got all of this started.

The lady in the picture is my son-in-law's grandmother - surrounded by the quilts pieced by HER grandmother. Wow.

Enjoy!
