    I just drew them from pictures I saw in my "bird books"...then cut them apart to make the patterns.

    Love your birds! I want to make a bird quilt too! I have seen all four of your birds here in NH. All but the bald eagle are regular visitors to our feeders.

    The border fabric I believe is called "tailfeathers" and I pretty sure it's by Susan Winget(?) My local Joanns still has it in stock.

    Hello my name is Peggy; I too am interested in learning how to applique, how did you make your birds? I really like them! I am interested in making a sports quilt for my son with a Penguin on it; I have no idea where to start, how to make templates, etc...can you direct me how to begin?
