My husband had a lab that was boring, no color except at the front. Quilts geared to astronomy and to his interests were the answer.

The first has a photo of Venus in transit across the sun. A lady put a digital camera in front of his telescope lens. She was kind enough to e-mail some of the photos. I chose this one then dyed and over dyed fabrics to go with it and made him this quilt

There is a tiny dot of black on the lower right side of the sun. That is Venus

Because he teaches physics and has engineers, I thought a impossible traingle would be good

This is called an exploding star. Actually it was the first quilt I made for the lab

This last one features a frame that was inspired by Bob Ross. It is a whole piece of cloth underneath. Neon paints were used to highlight the center section so that your eye went right to that area. My husband is a scuba diver.

What a great idea! They all look so science-oriented, and definitely brighten up the space!

All are great, but I especially like the Impossible Triangle.

Wow, you are quite the fabric artist. These are just great and perfectly made for his lab. So cool!
