I made this for a queen size bed, and figured out and drew up the diamond pieces, so you could say it was paper pieced, all the material had to be at least 3 - 4" in length and 2" wide to work, tried to match all the colors with similar colors, In each diamond, the pieces were placed with the point in one direction, then the next piece sewn with the point in the opposite direction - tried not to use the same material twice, took a long time to gather enough material to make it work, thanks to my good sewing friends donations. In the middle I had what looked like a small volcano, but it disappeared once I quilted it.
Lone Star was a challenge and I was very frustrated.

I see lots I would change - if I were to do it over.

Wow! That is so beyond what I think of when I think Scrappy!
Looks like lots of work but well worth the end result. Thank you for letting us see it.

your patience has beenn rewarded with a masterpiece. This is one of the top lone star quilts I have ever seen.

Stunning. I have had that pattern for years but I never seem to be able to summon up the courage to make it. You did a wonderful job.
