I am making a simple 9 block for my sister. I love the fabric block but I don't think I like cornerstones. I haven't sew sashing yet. I am at a stopping point because it suddenly looks juvenile. I consider myself still new at quilting so I don't really know. What do you think? =)

I think it looks nice. Are you going to add a border to it too? Do you have more of the print fabric to border it with? Maybe then bind in the darker purple?

personally I don't think it's the cornerstone, it seems more like the plaid sashing. I do love the blocks and the setting, but I see what you mean about it seeming a tiny bit juvenile. Hope you find a way to make it so you're happy with the outcome. Either way it does look Great!

Wow! Ya'll are fast... thank you.
I only have 12 squares left of the print and dark purple. Not enough to add for border. I am planning a boarder though.
Gosh! Still thinkin'....

I don't think it looks juvenile, I think it's very pretty. I agree with what others have said about borders. Keep going, if she likes purple she'll love this quilt. And you probably will too when it's done.

Pjaco---I just noticed your avy. How cute is that dog? Love the eyes.

I like it but it seems that having different size corner stones is throwing it off a bit. Maybe if they were all the same size you might like it more.

If you have anymore of the dark color that is used in the 9-patches, and you use it as the cornerstones you will get a secondary pattern of large "X"s going through the quilt...likes paths criss-crossing your quilt. Cut a couple and just lay them over the current cornerstones and stand back and see if you like it before any unsewing!

I think it's the photo... (smiling)
They are all the same size and not sewn so it will be 1/2
smaller when sewn. =)
