I humbly submit my first "machine and me" quilt creation. My 20 year old Singer and I struggled a bit, but we got there in the end...most seams matched and it all held together after washing (Yay!).

These pictures were taken after only 1 wash in my toploader (with lots of stops for lint filter emptying). I was worried my wall mounted dryer might not take the weight so I laid it as flat as possible over 1 of my parallel washing lines...besides that the temp here is in the high 30's (celsius) so too hot to run dryers!

The layers consist of denim with fleece in the middle and a flannel back. Very few new materials, except thread and the blue and spotted flannels. I don't think I could have achieved the cutting of seams without the Fiskars spring loaded snips my lovely husband got for me, nor managed to sew it together without the support of about 4 dining room chairs!

I will still do my EPP...but I think the machine will be the way I will proceed on my quilting journey. After Christmas I am going to dust off my old Pinnock and get going with some more.

So thanks everyone for inspiring me with pictures of all your beautiful creations, the helpful tips and making a lone quilter feel part of a community. Merry Christmas to all.

really like that. Nice variety in the lights and darks..and the tan added gave it something special.

Your quilt looks great on the bed. I like the color variations of the denim.
