Default Making quilt for MIL out of fabrics I really don't like is sure a challenge

I've wanted to make the Carpenter's Star for a long time and decided to do one for my MIL. Problem is I really don't like the colors. :-( A friend of mine wisely told me yesterday to remember gifts are made with the recipient in mind. Oh yeah, I thought it was all about me! Lol! It's a surprise for MIL, but these are the colors in her sunroom, which is where I think she will use it. Her walls are the minty green and her favorite reading chair is a wingback in these colors, muted. I think it'll match her house perfectly- I'm just not loving it. Sure does make it hard for me to finish it. Oh well, we'll be making a trip there in the spring so I'm finishing it now and having it ready to deliver. I just started the quilting on it yesterday on my DSM.

The colors kinda grow on you if you keep looking at them. I think she will be pleased just because you made it for her. Get 'er done. It will make her happy.

I think the colors are great. I'm in the process of completing one as a project graduation donation using the school colors of black and gold with a cream background. Happy Holidays!

Not my choice of colours either but the pattern is lovely. Well done on sticking with it.

Stay strong....I'm in agreement on colors. On the bright side....design looks good...can see your points. Great quilting.
