Default Past & Present quilt pattern

I saw (& LOVED) this quilt in a catalog. I'm not familiar with this pattern. I don't even know if it's really called "Past & Present" or not. Anybody know anything about this? My DD recently got engaged & this would go perfectly in her new house, so I have to make it... HAVE TO! LOL!

Don't know the block name, but it looks like the small accent blocks are 1/9th the size of the big block. So basically a 9 patch with one odd square. Shouldn't be too hard to duplicate.

For a 9 inch finished block cut a 9.5 x 6.5 fabric piece. Out of the same fabric cut a 6.5 x 3.5 piece. Cut a 3.5 x 3.5 block of whatever contrasting color you want and sew to the 6.5 x 3.5 strip. Than sew that to the 9.5 x 6.5 piece of fabric. Completes your block. Clear as mud? A nine patch would work if you want the block more scrappy. The above is less seams. Someone correct my measurements if they see an error.

Very old fashioned looking pattern, it will make a great quilt no matter what fabrics you use

I don't see any errors in dakotamaid's suggestion above. I would probably strip piece the 6.5 x 3.5 segments if you aren't going to take a real scrappy approach to it. Then cut down from there. Even faster!
