Such is the ability to shop at great places in the states. I empathize, totally, notmorecraft! (I'm in Poland and woven cotton fabric appropriate for quilting is basically unavailable except if we are really creative--we have no LQS). We learn to use what we have/can do. And those who have to pay the prices you mentioned tend to sew less than those who can get the kinds of deals that Marshall's (apparently) has.

I shopped there last week and was very impressed. I bought several wide backing pieces, washed them and really like the quality and feel. They were 7.99 a yard. I also bought several pieces at 2.99 a yard.

Congratulations. Now you need to show us what you made from all that fabric. Good job. BrendaK

Wow-I live in Arkansas & never been there. I've been on their site but never realized they were here in my own state! On my bucket list now!

They have a sale table with lots of fabric for just $1.00 per yard.

I went there last summer. Although I didn't find the kind of bargains you did, I ended up spending about $2.50 a yard on their sale tables. Discontinued batiks were going for $2.99 a yard. I also picked up three bolts of RJR fabric for $2.25 a yard on the wholesale side of the store. I wish it wasn't a 12+ hour drive for me to get there, or I'd go more often!

Edited to add: If you have one or two others who share your addiction, you can save a lot by ordering the flat fold bundles on the wholesale side of their website. You don't have to have a business license. I pay around $2.00 - 2.50 a yard, plus shipping on great fabric. The problem is the bundles are usually 100 yards, but if you can find someone to split with, they are a great bargain.

I live just 40 miles south of Batesville and buy almost all my fabric and batting at Marshalls. Went about a week ago and got enough for 2 queen size quilts and a baby quilt with batting for all and spent $106.00. Love, love, love Marshalls!

That is really a good deal, that will keep you going for alittle while... Remember to show us your projects. As for backing of quilts, I usually use cotton bed sheets, notmorecraft, if I am not using flannel. I would refuse to spend that much on a backing fabric unless it were a pieced backing.
