Default Storm by the Sea quilt top - paper pieced

Finally done the top.

This is one of those patterns that can go on forever and I'm glad that also means I can stop it whenever.

It took some time to get this pattern right - since the first template I downloaded didn't line up properly. And then a couple of people posted about doing this as a paper pieced quilt top.

My new year's resolution was to try more complicated quilts and different types things, so it was the perfect opportunity.

I learned a new technique (which I do like, and have discovered a way to use up my scraps!), and I finished this today.

Thanks to all who helped me out in the thread where I was having so many problems! Greatly appreciated!

Lynnie, if you paper piece it, it's not that bad. I'm not a fan of the pattern anymore since I just finished it ... but I do like the look of it!

Very nice. There are so many secondary patterns in this block which makes it even more fun.

I love this! You have a great selection of colors that really work together. Paper piecing is a great way to get those points perfect! This quilt block is definitely on my bucket list!
