Very unusual, almost a bow-tie, pattern. I really like it. And you're right, the border is stunning. I would hoard it, too, except that the right project did finally come along. This is definitely it!

I can see why that beautiful border fabric was saved for so long! You found the perfect project - and now you get to see it every day as the gorgeous finish of a fabulous quilt. Mom's quilt is darling. Your suggestion really helps pull out the pale yellow. Looks like a great weekend.

I have the pattern written up for this quilt -- almost complete, still some revisions, it'll be a couple weeks before it's ready to release. If anyone wants a copy for a nominal fee please PM me.

Two great interpretations of a fun pattern. I understand why you'd have trouble cutting into that border fabric, but this was a great choice to highlight it. both are lovely! I hope Mom's brings in big bucks - it's very sweet.
