I was in a thrift shop yesterday and saw some cute coffee cups. I thought, "I bet Maggie Sue could make a cute mug rug to go with this!"

Very nice job. Sounds like a great idea to use of Christmas gifts. I was thinking of doing them for teachers gifts too after I completed the easter one and saw how cute the mug and matching mug rug look.

This is my first mug AND my first time free motion quilting. I rolled the backing around to the front to give it a look of binding. Not too bad for a first effort. Will make nice gifts at Christmas for co-workers. I bought seven cups today at Good Will. This is number one. I do hope I will be able to stick with this project so that I can get all seven done. I am not known for my sticktoitiveness!!!
Thank you for looking.

adorable!
