Got many black and red 1/4 yard cuts, batik fat quarters as well as 1 to 3 yards of an assortment of fabric. Also got an 18 x 24 cutting mat (not pictured) and various rulers.

I just love garage sales! I figured the 3 yard cut of green batik was worth more than what I paid for the whole stash>

Love garage sales but walking is hard for me so my husband scouts out the sales and calls me if he sees something I might like. He has made many good deals for me. I also love shopping at thrift stores. Walking is easier and slower on even flooring. You made a great buy.

We had a founder's day in my hometown in Ga last week & i stopped in at this yard sale as i was stuck behind the parade & after inquiring about fabrics,,the lady said hold on, I think grandma has some and then proceeded to bring out 4 huge totes of fabrics that had been brought from TG&Y, LQS & WM (when they 1st opened up) Most of them had never been cut into! Anywhere from 1 -6 yards were in those boxes of all flowered old-fashioned materials plus 2 quilting books for $17.00. Tried to get the treadle too but not for sale!

Have no idea what I will be making but I have been collecting batiks so this worked great. I may have to make another red and black quilt.

I do plan to give the cutting mat and larger rulers to a friend that is going to start quilting and has asked me to teach her.

just getting the fabric alone at that price would have been a great deal but then with all the rulers etc. too that is the deal of the century!!
