Default My “Not So Secret Garden”

This is a kitchen window valance that I made this lastcouple of weeks using left over ‘One Block Wonder’ blocks from the tablecloththat I posted here a month or so ago. Here is the link http://www.quiltingboard.com/pictures-f5/ugly-ol-quilt-t261168.htmlif you would like to see it.I did notwant them to be ‘matchy, matchy’but tocoordinate with each other.I haven’thung it yet because I promised to take it to guild next month.I used 2 layers of batting and a rather stifffabric for backing because I wanted it to have more ‘body’ than mostquilts.I quilted it on my DSM and the sewingwas difficult to accomplish with so much bulk.It measures 90 X 30.
The stems are just bias cut strips that are narrowed at oneend to come to a point and stitched down by machine almost like you would dobinding, except it is laid over flat and not wrapped around the edge of thequilt. The Flowers and stems and leaves were all machine stitched down as itwill hang in the kitchen and will be laundered fairly often.

This is great! I love how you quilted it. Thank you also for supplying the link to your "ugly ol quilt". It was fun to see it and looks great as a table cover on your kitchen table.
