Love this rug. Looks like it'd last a LONG time - Think I'll make some for our house here and some to go in the house when we get to Haiti!

Yes, you have what they call the bottom and base layer which you put warm and natural in between. Bottom layer face down, base layer face up. Then put 3 layers face up on top of that. Cut the bottom/base layer w/warm and natural an inch larger on each side so that you can distinguish between it and the top 3 layers you cut thru to make the chenille part. i used the same fabric for all 5 fabric layers but you can use different ones if you like.

Looks great, I have only done small blocks, I should try a rug it would be soft on the feet.

Looks great, Wal Mart,K-Mart and Target and I'm sure lots of other stores sell the rubber waffle looking stuff that go under rugs to keep them from slipping.

I love your rug and want to try one myself. I understand your directions and they seem easy enough for this old tired brain to manage. But I do have a question that I don't think was addressed. Do you have to stitch and cut in any specific direction? I wasn't sure if it needed to be with the grain, diagonal to it, or what, to make the chenille part look right.
