Default Comfort quilt for a friend

A fellow parishioner approached me on Easter Sunday and told me she was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. So many friends have been affected : ( So, when I got home I searched in my stack of "to be quilted" and found this lap quilt that I had made from 12 left over blocks and enough extra fabric to add a pieced border. I worked all week to sandwich, quilt and bind so I could give it to her the following Sunday. The label reads, "HOPE is being able to see that there is LIGHT despite all the darkness. Don't let the tall weeds cast a shadow on the flowers in your garden! From one cancer warrior to another." She was surprised and pleased and I pray it will keep her warm during chemo and surround her with love and support.

That is a beautiful quilt. You have done a great thing to give it to her. They do get cold! I love the quilt.

Well done. I'll say a prayer for your friend, too.

Love your quilt but most of all your heart. It's so good you had this pieced and top together already. May God bless you both

What a lovely project, lovely thought, and lovely label. Well done

I so appreciate all the quiet gifts and acts of kindness quilters do.
