she turns 13 next week and this is probably the last time I will be able to get away with anything like this...but when my kids were little we watched a movie called "Totoro" about a billion times! When Maggie was about 3 she had Mae ponies (pig tails) just like the little girl in the movie ~ so in honor of her being 13 I made her a remember me quilt of her favorite movie. The black circles will be fringed when I'm done to turn into "dust bunnies" or soot sprites as they were in the movie....I hope she likes it. I hand drew everything....I don't think I've ever been so nervous about a quilt before. =)

I'm always amazed by how attached my grown daughter still are to the books and movies we saw when they were little. This will be a wonderful remembrance for her. It's very special!
