Default My First Bargello

I just love the movement of Bargello quilts and decided to try one out. Kept it small (42" x50") but looking forward to trying a larger one next time. Like others, I quilted along the diagonal to emphasize the wave - one of these days I will master sewing in straight, even lines, but even with my terrible sewing skills, I think this one looks pretty cool.

Some tips I learned - I made the mistake of cheaping out on the fabric and while the end result looks good, it was terrible to work with. Never again. How you press the seams really matters for getting good corners. That always the case, but there are just so many in these quilts! Also, I am glad I followed the advice to pin and pin some more.

This is a beautiful and colorful quilt. The waves flow right along just as they should. Don't be so hard on yourself it was your first try. I for one love it. Thanks for sharing.

Pretty cool indeed! Love the fabric colors even though you didn't particularly like the quality of them. Great quilting!
