My girlfriend gave me really good advise - she told me the easiest and best way to quilt a top was to follow the design in the fabric if possible or the design of the quilt. She has been quilting for over 60 years. Hope this helps you see your way. Thank you.

Would never have seen such beautiful results from looking at your base fabric......shows what I know.....LOL! It is most striking.......The brights just shine upon the darker backgrounds.....just fabulous!! Thanks for sharing this and the original fabric. I hope to see it when you have it all done......

Found a picture of the original fabric!
Thanks for the encouragement, I'm going to need it when I start quilting. Its on my Get It Done in March list.
All those different hexagons came from the one fabric? Oh Boy, I think I have to try this!

Did you wash your fabric first before cutting?
I got a book on how to make this and it says don't wash your fabrics first, and unfortunately I had already washed most
of my fabrics. Just wondering if it would work out very well using washed fabrics.
