I agree about pantos. They are difficult to learn, DH is still having a hard time doing even simple ones. I find the hardest part is starting the new row. When we bought our LA, our #1 thing we told the dealer was to learn how to do pantos and he said OK. At our only training lesson, he finished and said he was done. I asked how to do pantos and he said he didn’t like them and refused to teach us. It’s been a struggle and I feel there are so many things I need to learn yet, it’s just a process. Your quilt turned out beautiful.

You chose a difficult design to do for a first time panto. You did a very good job. Circles look easy and we see them everyday, however it is difficult to get a nice smooth (and round) circle. This takes A LOT of practice.

Here’s the good part: No one will know the circles are not as perfect as the pattern, unless you tell them. They have nothing to compare your work to.

My number one rule is: DO NOT point out errors, problems, unsuccessful “try’s”. You are the only one that will know how you thought it should look.............others looking at your quilts will think they are wonderful!!!

Unfortunately everything has a learning curve, even easy things! I had a hard time using a ruler for the quilting. I kept veering off. I think your quilt and quilting turned out so nice!

oksewglad, I like your quilting just fine. I think the slight variation from perfection is proof that a human being did this rather than a robot, and if you hadn't shown the picture of the design you were following, I would have assumed it was intentional. The variegated thread was just the right choice for this quilt, too. If you have two grands with their eyes on it, you may have to make another similar one in order to keep the peace!

Great Quilt! Your quilting is nice too. I tried a panto on practice fabric and it was terrible. You did a good job.

Thanks everyone...I finished the binding a couple of days ago and am liking this quilt more and more each day. Using the yellow leftover from the backing strips has framed it so nicely. I have a couple of Grands that are liking this little sofa warmer!
